Mr. JacksonMy right hon. Friend announced on 2 November last year an increase in the Open university's grant of £4.2 million in the financial year 1989–90 and similar additions for the next two years. The detailed allocation of these additional resources within the undergraduate programme is a matter for the university. It is receiving £68.4 million in recurrent grant in 1989.
