§ Mr. Peter WalkerThe beef sector in Wales is in a healthy condition. The June 1988 agricultural census results show that the total beef herd in Wales increased by 2 per cent. over the previous year while the number of heifers in calf intended mainly for rearing calves for beef rose by 24 per cent., reflecting producers' optimism for the beef market.
