HC Deb 17 April 1989 vol 151 c24W
Mr. Bermingham

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many prisoners in England and Wales received notification of their actual parole date after the passing of their parole eligibility date.

Mr. Douglas Hogg

[holding answer 14 April 1989]: Accurate statistics of the number of cases where inmates have been notified of the outcome of their parole review after their parole eligibility date will not be available until a new computer system is operational. In 1988, about 6,100 parole dossiers were delayed beyond this target.
