§ Mr. John Patten[holding answer 14 April 1989]: Persons released from custody following imprisonment in 24W default of payment of a fine receive a subsistence allowance to cover the period until they can reach an office of the Department of Social Security and a travel warrant or payment in cash for fares to their home address or destination.
