§ The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (Baroness Trumpington)Cattle, and to a lesser extent sheep, are susceptible to infection with Mycobacterium bovis, as are deer. The potential for transmission of the disease must always be considered to exist whenever infected animals are in contact with susceptible stock whether of the same or other species.
