HC Deb 13 April 1989 vol 150 c659W
Mr. Tony Banks

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what steps he proposes to ensure the provision of an extra 260,000 dwellings in London between 1987 and 2001.

Mr. Trippier

My right hon. Friend accepted the figure of 260,000 extra dwellings on the advice of the London Planning Advisory Committee, with the agreement of the boroughs. It is for the boroughs to make provision in their unitary development plans.
