To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment how the Housing Corporation assesses the management performance of housing associations.

Under part I of the Housing Associations Act 1985, the securing of proper management in the affairs of registered housing associations is the responsibility of the Housing Corporation. I am therefore arranging for the corporation to write to the hon. Member.
