HC Deb 13 April 1989 vol 150 cc698-9W
Mr. Gale

To ask the Secretary of State for Health what proposals he intends to make to increase the information available to general practitioners through improvements to the labelling of generic medicines.

Mr. Mellor

The information put on medicine labels is that essential to tell patients how to use their medicines.

Since most GPs never see labels, they are not generally a practicable way to provide doctors with information about drugs.
