To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food whether he will consider raising the cow subsidy from £34 to £46 per head as the permitted maximum within the European Community.

The Government are currently considering what rate of Buckler cow premium should apply in the United Kingdom and an announcement will be made before the start of the 1989 scheme year on 15 June.
