§ Mr. HinchliffeTo ask the Secretary of State for Health (1), pursuant to his answer to the hon. Member for Wakefield on 7 April,Official Report, columns 303–4, if he will give the reference for the press reports on cook-chill food which he refers to as biased and inaccurate;
(2) if, pursuant to his answer to the hon. Member for Wakefield on 7 April, Official Report, columns 303–4, he will seek a report from the Wakefield district health authority as to when it received representations from the hon. Member for Wakefield and which representations did not relate to cook-chill food at Clayton hospital.
§ Mr. Kenneth ClarkeIt is for the district health authority to follow up local complaints. But my hon. Friend the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Health is writing to the hon. Member about his request for cook-chill to be suspended, and he will enclose with that letter a copy of the article referred to and a copy of the unit general manager's subsequent letter to the editor of the newspaper concerned setting out the true position.
