To ask the Prime Minister what was the amount spent by her office on outside consultants and special advisers attached to, or working for, No. 10 Downing street in 1988–89.

There has been no expenditure by my office on fees on outside consultants in 1988–89. The latest estimate of the amount spent by my office on advisers in 1988–89 is £261,600.
