To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what discussions he has had with the Government of China concerning recent events in Tibet.

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs when he last discussed Tibet with a representative of the Chinese Government.

Mr. Eggar

My right hon. and learned Friend discussed Tibet when he met the Chinese Foreign Minister in Tokyo in February. My noble Friend the Minister of State also discussed Tibet with Mr. Zhou Nan, the Chinese Vice Foreign Minister during the latter's visit in March.

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what representations he has received on the subject of human rights in Tibet.
