HC Deb 10 April 1989 vol 150 cc321-2W
Mr. Barry Field

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many prison quarters remain unusable.

Mr. Douglas Hogg

Only a few prison quarters which are structurally unsound or substandard are considered to be unusable. National figures are not readily available and could be obtained only at disproportionate cost, but the number of such properties on the Isle of Wight is seven.
