§ Mr. NichollsDuring 1988, 108 applications were received for compensation under the Pneumoconiosis etc (Workers' Compensation) Act 1979. Of these, 50 were approved, totalling £443,257 in compensation payments, 53 were not accepted and one was withdrawn; four of the 1988 applications are still awaiting determination.
