How far the recommendations of the 1985 Chiswick Report on the review of suicide precautions at Glenochil Young Offenders Institution have been carried out.

The main institution at Glenochil is now an adult prison. Only the former detention centre is still in use as a young offenders institution. Those recommendations which the Government accepted have been implemented, and where appropriate incorporated into the procedures for the identification and management of young offenders at risk.
