HC Deb 05 April 1989 vol 150 cc234-5W
41. Sir Hector Monro

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland when he last discussed unemployment in Scotland with the Confederation of British Industry.

Mr. Rilkind

I have frequent discussions with the Confederation of British Industry on a range of issues affecting the Scottish economy. I am sure that the CBI shares my satisfaction that seasonally adjusted unemployment in Scotland has fallen by 43,400 over the past 12 months and is now at its lowest level since July 1981.
