HL Deb 05 April 1989 vol 505 c1186WA
Lord Fanshawe of Richmond

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will follow up the Prime Minister's appeal for litter collection by taking action to clear the serious litter pollution on the central reservation of the dual carriageway between Hammersmith flyover and the Chiswick elevated section of the M.4, which is the main route travelled by tourists from London Airport Heathrow into Central London.

The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Department of Transport (Lord Brabazon of Tara)

Action has been taken to clear litter from this section of the A.4. Additional funds for this purpose were allocated as part of the department's £1 million litter clearing campaign announced on 17th March.
