To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he will make it his policy to

Mr. Douglas Hogg

I understand from the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis that the Metropolitan police spent an estimated £1,220,000 on management and computer consultancies in 1988–89.

The following contracts were awarded in 1988

publish the report of the review of the police national computer being carried out by Country Nat West when it has been completed.

This report has only just been received and we have yet to decide how best to carry out consultations on its conclusion.
