§ Mr. Donald ThompsonEC regulations on marketing standards for eggs do not permit the method of production to be stamped on the egg although, as I indicated in my previous answer, eggs produced under alternative systems to the battery may be marketed in packs bearing the appropriate designation of the production system.
Consumer interests have indicated that they would not welcome a change in the legislation to require the marking of eggs.
