§ Mrs. ClwydTo ask the Secretary of State for Wales how many derogations from the European Economic Community directives for drinking water and bathing water have been granted to the Welsh water authority.
§ Mr. GristDerogations concerning mainly the iron and manganese parameters for 14 sources have been notified to the European Commission in respect of drinking water. In addition, derogations in respect of a further 17 sources serving small populations (which do not have to be notified to the Commission) have been approved by the Department. No derogations have been applied for in respect of bathing waters.
