HC Deb 31 October 1988 vol 139 cc476-7W
Mr. Allan Roberts

To ask the Secretary of State for Energy when lead-free petrol will be made available at current octane ratings; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Peter Morrison

All unleaded petrol on sale in the United Kingdom meets the minimum 95 octane rating specified for premium grade in British Standard 7070, which itself conforms to the agreed European standard. Unleaded petrol is now available at more than 2,200 petrol stations in the United Kingdom.
