§ Mrs. Virginia BottomleyThe Department has had contacts with a variety of universities on such matters. The Department's research programme includes research contracts with the universities of Bristol, Kent, Newcastle, Liverpool, Oxford and York for work related to the release of genetically engineered organisms into the environment.
