To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Science whether he has any plans to introduce further measures to impose obligations on universities and other higher education institutions to protect freedom of speech; and if he will make a statement.

As I indicated in my reply to my hon. Friend the Member for Pembroke (Mr. Bennett) on 26 April, at column98, we plan to evaluate the working of section 43 of the Education (No. 2) Act 1986, now that it has been in force for a year.
