§ Mr. BellinghamTo ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether any changes will be made to the Charity Commission cash limit and running cost limit for 1988–89.
§ Mr. John PattenSubject to parliamentary approval of the necessary Supplementary Estimate, the cash limit on class XX, vote 4 will be increased by £910,000 from £6,895,000 to £7,805,000. As a consequence, the running costs limit will be increased by £782,000 from £6,743,000 to £7,525,000. This will enable the commissioners to carry forward those proposals arising from the efficiency scrutiny of the supervision of charities which do not require primary legislation.
The cash limit increase will be charged to the reserve and will not therefore add to the planning total of public expenditure.
