HC Deb 28 October 1988 vol 139 c426W
Mr. Dunn

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will review the arrangements and formula of the home loss payments scheme; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Chope

I refer my hon. Friend to the answer I gave him yesterday.

Mr. Dunn

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will publish in theOfficial Report the levels of award payable under the home loss payments scheme; and what the levels would be at today's prices, adjusted to take account of inflation.

Mr. Chope

The amount of home loss payment under section 30 of the Land Compensation Act 1973 has, since 1 April 1973, been three times the rateable value of the claimant's home, subject to a minimum of £150 and a maximum of £1,500. Since that date the retail prices index has increased by a factor of 4.65.
