§ Mr. ShersbyTo ask the Secretary of State for Health what is the cost to public funds for the whole of the United Kingdom for each of the past three years for which figures are available of the spectacle voucher schemes for the exempt groups for general optical service dispensing.
§ Mr. MellorThe spectacle voucher scheme in the general ophthalmic service was introduced from 1 July 1986 and the only cost figures available, therefore, are £33.135 million for 1986–87 and £60.207 million (provisional) for 1987–88 for the United Kingdom.
