Mr. Amess

To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Science how many(a) teachers, (b) lecturers, and (c) non-teaching staff were employed in the public sector education system in the Basildon area for each of the last five years.

Figures for Basildon are not available because the Department does not collect this information below the level of the local education authority. The numbers employed in the public sector education system in Essex are as follows:
