To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security how many employed persons have contracted out of the state earnings-related pension scheme and are members of company or occupational pensions schemes, categorised by sex, and industry or occupation.

The latest available information is shown in the table. Contracted-out status for national insurance purposes is available only to employees who are members of an occupational pension scheme to which their employer contributes. Records are not kept of individuals' occupations.
