§ Mr. Peter BottomleyThe enforcement of the regulations covering the transport of dangerous goods by road is the responsibility of the Health and Safety Executive. The Department's traffic examiners and the police also undertake regular checks of goods vehicles carrying dangerous goods to ensure that documentation and the marking of the vehicle correctly reflect the consignments.
We are considering with the Health and Safety Executive the feasibility of prescribing a transport document identifying dangerous goods carried.
