HC Deb 27 October 1988 vol 139 c384W
Mr. Strang

To ask the Secretary of State for Employment what is the procedure under the employment training scheme for referring disabled people to employment rehabilitation centres.

Mr. Nicholls

Employment rehabilitation centres are part of the employment rehabilitation service and are freely available without charge to support training agents and training managers under employment training.

The services are available for clients with special needs and trainees may be referred at any stage in their assessment or training. A training agent may refer a client if there is difficulty in producing an action plan because of a disability or may recommend rehabilitation or further assessment as part of the action plan. A training manager could refer a trainee if there is difficulty in implementing an action plan.
