§ Mr. NichollsBetween 1 January 1979 and 31 December 1987, 454 inspectors joined the Health and Safety Executive from a wide variety of backgrounds. During the same period 564 inspectors left, of whom 234 resigned, 302 retired and 28 left for other reasons.
Comprehensive information on the destination of those who resign from HSE is not available as staff are under no obligation to disclose their reasons for leaving.
