To ask the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster if he has any plans to implement all the provisions of the Estate Agents Act 1979.

Mr. Forth

I have no immediate plans to implement sections 16, 17, 19 and 22 of the Estate Agents Act 1979.

However I am currently exploring with the leading estate agency bodies the scope for self-regulatory action by the trade to supplement the existing consumer protection provisions of the Act.
