§ Mr. Sean HughesTo ask the Secretary of State for Defence if he will provide the latest available figures for his Department for(a) numbers of staff in receipt of local pay additions, by grade, (b) location of those offices awarding local pay additions and (c) annual cost.
§ Mr. SainsburyLocal pay additions in the Ministry of Defence are given to 1,278 executive officers, 26 typing managers, 65 senior personal secretaries, 427 personal secretaries, 2,784 administrative officers, 1,650 administrative assistants and 675 typists. Officers in all these grades in inner London receive the payment as do administrative officers, administrative assistants, personal secretaries and typists at Aldershot military town, Farnborough, High Wycombe, Northwood, Pyestock, Stanmore, Wandsworth and West Byfleet. The annual cost is estimated to be £3,420,000.
