HC Deb 25 October 1988 vol 139 cc151-2W
Mr. Terry Davis

To ask the Secretary of State for Health how much will be provided by the West Midlands regional health authority or Coventry health authority in the form of a capital grant or capital loan towards the cost of day surgery, endoscopy and in-patient facilities being established at Walsgrave hospital by Bioplan Holdings plc.

Mr. Mellor

The capital cost of the total scheme, currently estimated at £1.1 million, is to be met 60 per cent. by Coventry health authority and 40 per cent. by Bioplan, in accordance with the proposed percentage use of the facilities.

The contribution to the scheme by Coventry health authority is to be met by an annual rental contribution from Bioplan; this will effectively service the capital contribution which Coventry health authority will make.

The hon. Member may wish to write to the chairman of Coventry health authority if he would like any further information.
