§ Mr. McLeishTo ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will provide figures on regional selective assistance for(a) the total number of applications received since 1 April, (b) the number of the above applications that have been processed and (c) the total amount of money paid out since 1 April.
§ Mr. Lang[holding answer 24 October 1988]: In the period 1 April to 30 September, 118 applications for regional selective assistance were received in Scotland. Of these, 88 have been fully processed. The remaining 30 are being processed. Total payments of regional selective assistance in Scotland in the same period have amounted to £14.4 million.
