HC Deb 25 October 1988 vol 139 c171W
Mr. Beggs

To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Science what information he has as to the cost to public funds of students from(a) Northern Ireland and (b) the Irish Republic attending courses at the school of chiropody, New College, Durham.

Mr. Jackson

The cost to public funds of providing a place at New college, Durham, for a student from Northern Ireland or elsewhere in the United Kingdom to study ancillary health in the current academic year is approximately £2,600. The cost will be the same for a student from the Irish Republic or any other European Community country, provided he or she qualifies for reimbursement of tuition fees.
