HC Deb 24 October 1988 vol 139 c82W
Mr. Wray

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what is his latest information regarding water fluoridation in Scotland and the toxicity of fluorosilicic acid.

Mr. Michael Forsyth

There are no fluoridation schemes in operation in Scotland at present. Draft guidance on the implementation of the Water (Fluoridation) Act 1985, including a model formal agreement and a revised indemnity for water authorities, has been prepared and was recently sent to the Convention of Scottish Local Authorities for comment. Its response is awaited. There has been no change in the toxicity of fluorosilicic acid.
