To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how many pupils are attending Regent House school, Newtownards; how many new non-fee-paying pupils were accepted for this academic year; how many new fee-paying pupils were accepted for this academic year; how many applicants for places at the school were rejected for this academic year; and how many of these were for non-fee-paying places.

The information is as follows:

  • 1,609 pupils are attending Regent House school; 1,411 in the secondary department and 198 in the preparatory department;
  • 219 non-fee-paying pupils and no fee-paying pupils were accepted into first form this academic year;
  • 15 first preference applicants, of whom 14 were eligible for non-fee-paying places, were not allocated places this academic year.
