Mr. Wray

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what is, for each year since 1974, the public contribution to private nursing homes in Scotland in 1988 moneys.

The table gives the information available centrally, which relates to payments by health boards for the care of patients in hospitals not vested in the Secretary of State. In addition, people in nursing homes may be able to get help with fees from the social security system.
