Mr. Barry Jones

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security (1) what extra moneys he has given to the Partially Sighted Society; and if he will make a statement;

(2) what is the annual grant made by his Department to the Partially Sighted Society; for what purposes; and if he will make a statement;

(3) if he will increase the annual grant to the Partially Sighted Society; and if he will make a statement.

The Partially Sighted Society has received grant aid towards headquarters costs since 1977. Following a recent review, a grant of £10,000 a year for three years has been awarded from this year. There has also been an additional grant this year of £20,000 to help the society with the cost of its low vision aid service.
