Mr. Wray

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland how many unemployed people under 25 years of age in(a) Scotland, (b) Strathclyde, (c) Greater Glasgow and (d) Glasgow, Provan were without jobs for more than (1) 12 months, (2) between six months and 12 months, and (3) up to six months, in 1976, 1980 and 1987.

The available information is shown in the table. Parliamentary constituency figures were not compiled before June 1983. Figures for 1976 other than the Scottish totals could only be obtained at disproportionate cost.
