HC Deb 19 October 1988 vol 138 cc893-4W
Mr. Ashley

To ask the Secretary of State for Health if he will publish the results of the recent study commissioned by the Department of Health and Social Security on the incidence and prevalence of communications and language handicaps and the need for speech therapy.

our information shows that, in practice, most are accepting payment of accommodation charges in arrears. Claimants planning to stay in this type of accommodation are provided with a letter for the landlord confirming that a claim for benefit has been made.

We are, of course, continuing to monitor the effects of the new scheme.
