Friend the Secretary for Education and Science took up a number of individual cases during his recent visit to the Soviet Union. My right hon. and learned Friend the Secretary of State raised the case of Mr. George Samoilovich with Mr. Shevardnadze in New York on 26 September, following earlier representations by officials.
