HC Deb 19 October 1988 vol 138 c960W
38. Mr. Couchman

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what efforts Her Majesty's Government are making to negotiate asset seizure agreements with third countries to counter international trade in narcotics.

Mr. Eggar

We have signed agreements to trace, freeze and confiscate the proceeds of drug trafficking this year with the United States of America, Bahamas, Canada and Australia. Negotiations are well advanced with several other Governments and talks have opened with a further 40 countries.
