HL Deb 11 October 1988 vol 500 c870WA
Baroness Gardner of Parkes

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What are the proposals for future summer time arrangements.

The Minister of State, Home Office (Earl Ferrers)

The European Commission have issued a draft directive on summer time to cover the three years 1990 to 1992.

The Government support this proposal as it continues the derogation for the United Kingdom whereby our summer time ends a month later than that of Continental member states, and gives us time to complete the review of summer time and introduce any legislation that may be indicated as a result. A consultative document will be published in the next few months.
