To ask the Secretary of State for Employment how many local employer networks are presently in operation in England and Wales; and how many more are planned for 1988–89.

§ Mr. Cope
At the end of October, 98 local employer networks were operating in England and Wales. A further six applications are currently being considered, and discussions are taking place with three organisations showing an interest in applying to "host" a local employer network.
