§ Mr. Archie HamiltonFigures for the annual expenditure on the air defence of the United Kingdom are given in volume 2 of the annual statement on the Defence Estimates. These show that, since 1978–79, the Government have spent a total of some £5,488 million on air defence, with expenditure in each year as follows:
