Mr. Goodlad

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department (1) what information he has as to how many of those convicted of crimes in England and Wales in each of the last two years had previously been admitted to National Health Service mental illness hospitals with a main diagnosis of schizophrenia psychoses;

(2) how many of those convicted of crimes in England and Wales in 1987 have ever been admitted to National Health Service mental illness hospitals and units with a main diagnosis of schizophrenia psychoses.
