§ Mr. WarrenTo ask the Secretary of State for Employment what terms of reference have been given to the consultants employed on the review of the work of the English Tourist Board; and if he will make them known to that board.
§ Mr. LeeThe terms of reference for the review are:
- to consider the role of Government in relation to the industry;
- to consider the level and distribution of funding provided by the Department of Employment;
- to consider the mechanisms by which these funds are applied; and their cost-effectiveness in relation to the
111 Government's objectives; - to consider the implications for the BTA and the ETB of any changes that might be recommended.
These are closely reflected in the announcement my right hon. Friend made on 18 July and are known to both the English Tourist Board and the British Tourist Authority.
