To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will list the places or regions in which cattle infected by bovine spongiform encephalopathy are found in the United Kingdom.

To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what measures his Department have introduced to prevent human consumption of beef infected by bovine spongiform encephalopathy.

From 8 August this year, all cattle suspected, on clinical grounds, of being affected with bovine spongiform encephalopathy have been compulsorily slaughtered and their carcases either incinerated or buried.
